Delta Improves Diamond Medallion Choice Benefits

A350 delta

Great news from the Medallion Program : for the 2018 benefit year, Diamond Elite members can select more from the Choice Benefit program.

As a Platinum or Diamond member, in addition to many other privileges like early boarding, earlier upgrade availability, etc, you can select from Delta’s Choice Benefit program. Platinums can choose one Benefit from the list, and that hasn’t changed. For Diamonds however, Delta has made some great changes :

The big change is that instead of Diamonds selecting two Choice benefits for the year, you can select three. And you can select them whenever you want, as opposed to having to select them all at once last year.

Diamonds used to get Skyclub access automatically – that is now gone, but becomes an option on the list to choose from. Since many Diamonds already have access via a credit card, those with single access plans (the credit cards give you single person access) can use one Choice Benefit to upgrade to a executive access plan (includes up to two guests with the member). If you dont have access via a credit card, you can use one choice benefit for single access plans, or two choice benefits for the executive access plans.

Diamond Choice Benefits

One of the choices was, and still is, 25,000 SkyMiles (not MQMs), however now you can gift them to someone as well.

You can also double or triple up on some choices, for example, the 25,000 bonus miles. Do you want all 3 of your choices to be miles? Well you can select this 3 times and get 75,000 miles. This doesnt apply to SkyClub memberships or the upgrade vouchers (would’ve been amazing!).

The full list of Diamond choices are : Regional and/or Global upgrade certificates, 25,000 Skymiles, 2 Global Entry vouchers, SkyClub single access plan, SkyClub executive access plan, a $200 delta gift card or a $200 Tiffany’s gift card, and the ability to gift Gold Medallion status to someone.
